Very slow browsing using netscape on new sun blade

Guys,
Netscape is pitifully slow. I tried downloading files from ZDNET to test bandwidth, and I was downloading at a decent 35KBps. adsl btw. But, when I go to virtually ANY website, netscape reports on the botton that its recieving the page at around 1.6kps. Is there some sort of application bandwith throttling to be done or something?
