Our HpServer runs Backup Exec V.7. Two of the clients being backed up are a NT Workstation machine and a Windows 95 machine. our network uses TCP/IP. The NT WS machine has been using Accelerated Agent Backup with an average throughput of 50 MB/min. The Win 95 machine has not been using Accelerated Agent Backup, but has been backing up daily at an average throughput of 52 MB/min.

On February 11th, I had to switch the hard drives of the 2 machines, and the network cards. This involved re-installing TCP/IP on both machines. I installed Backup Exec Agent as a network service on the Win 95 machine. When I check the Services running on the NT WS machine, I see Backup Exec 7.0 Agent Accelerator Started (automatic). Both machines are functioning successfully as before on the network.
Since Feb 11th, the throughput on the Win 95 machine backups has dropped from about 50 MB/min to 2 MB/min; the throughput on the NT WS machine has dropped from about 52 MB/min to 12 MB/min. The Backup Exec log states that Agent Accelerated Backup is being performed on the NT WS machine; it does not make any reference to Agent Accelerated Backup on the Win 95 machine. These backup rates are unacceptable for the quantity of information to be backed up daily. Please note that Backup Exec is doing backups on a second NT WS machine, using Agent Accelerated Backup at a throughput of 28 MB/min. This machine has had no hardware or software changes.
What can we do to recover our old, fast throughput rates on the NT Ws and Win 95 machines? Do we need to re-install or change settings on the NT Server Backup Exec settings, or are the client settings incorrect? Please help as we have not had a valid backup on the NT WS or Win 95 machines since Feb. 11th. Thanks.
