OK so this isn't a huge issue, but I came to work this monday and my computer room is a lot louder than it used to be, so I went behind my servers and the fan inside my IBM Risc/6000 E20 seems to be the source. I'm going to order a new fan and throw it in there to hopefully remesdy the situation, but wanted to get opinions first just in case it could be something much bigger. Thanks

Usually it happens when the system is operating with a
power problem. In a dual redundant power system, when one power supply stops to work, all the change have to be genereted by just one. So the fan works harder and the noise is louder.

Cheers
