I need to create a summary report that will about 8 pages. Apparently, one single report can only be 22" long. Is there any way to set subreports with page breaks (perhaps) so I can have all my info in one large report? Or will I have to make up several different reports and connect them with a macro or some such? If I can't create one large one, could I get some advice on how to proceed with the many reports? I would like to have one command to view (and eventually print) for one record. Thank you very much, and I hope I was clear! :) Holy tek-tips batman!:-0

Have you found a solution to your report length problem? I also need to do a very long report, but have got to the bottom and cannot go further.

Some help if you have done this now, would be very much appreciated.

Ta Thank you for your help already.

Matt,

Can you describe the layout you want for your report?

You can insert page breaks and put subreports in, to hold the data for each page of info. I have some vague memory of doing this, but I'm not sure. Should work, though.

The problem is that your reports can be only 22 inches long, and I need a multi-page report solution!

Right. Put page breaks in. Put sub reports between the page breaks. The subreport controls can be tiny, with cangrow set to true. Just make sure that the main report is grouped by the PK of the recordset being generated and the subreports are linked in such a way as to only generate one page of data each.

I'm not saying this is the best way, but it should work.

For my report, i have managed to get into the 22 inch frame, just! So i am ok. Would prefer page breaks though, but i doubt i will have to produce a report of this size again. But at least i know the boundaries now. Many thanks Thank you for your help already.

I now have another query for you regarding this long report. Because i have had to use some of the page header to enter some fields, they are unfortunately appearing then at the top of each page. How can i get the page header to appear just at the first page? OR would it be best to remove the page header and add this to the report header instead?

Ideas? Thank you for your help already.

Thank you very much! Sorry about my denseness. :) I believe that this will work.

THANKS! [thumbsup2] Holy tek-tips batman!:-0
