Very Green at Oracle want to know install info plz help

Hi

I'm thinking of installing Oracle 9iAS on my system to learn, as my weblogic is working as I want to. Do I have to install an Oracle Database to install 9i AS or could I use my existing SQL 7.0. If I do have to install an Oracle Database which one should I as I am really just interested in using the Application Server features. I looked at the components for 8i Database and it includes alot of the 9iAS components such as HTTP server. Could someone help me out I'm a little confused.

Can I use my win2000 server to act as a router pls.. help.
can yuo pls give an instructions on how if possible..
