Trying to upgrade Norton Anti-Virus subscription and the Activation Screen will NOT go away!! I paid for and downloaded the upgrade from the Symantec website followed the directions for installation and it said it was complete but every time I start my computer or the program an Activation Screen pops up. The screen is white with a "Back" Button a "Next" Button (which is grayed out) and a "Activate Later" Button, none of which work. I have tried every suggestion that is on Symantec's website and nothing works I have tried to contact Symantec’s tech support with no avail. Could there be a virus in the computer preventing certain sites to work or come up? I can not get to Symantec's, Trendmicro's or any other online security check websites as well as Microsoft's windows upgrade website.

VERY FRUSTRATING!!! PLEASE HELP!!

Have you tried booting into Safe Mode with Networking (press F8 during boot) and scanning? Have you tried System Restore, then scanning? Many works/viruses will not allow you to visit pages with "symantec" "trend micro" in the title like Blackmal.

Copy and paste this into your browser for more info:

Code:
[URL unfurl="true"]http://atstake.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.blackmal.e@mm.html[/URL]

Well, since all that link does is redirect you to a Symantec Page and you have the virus or a variant the page should still close. From the Symantec technical details:

Closes windows whose title contains any of the following strings:

* SYMANTEC
* SCAN
* KASPERSKY
* VIRUS
* MCAFEE
* TREND MICRO
* NORTON
* REMOVAL
* FIX

Sorry...if the page doesn't open there's your sign. I can't believe Symantec has not been of more help. Try again, you may get a better CSR.
