I have a column like this;

Highlight the cells you want your values transposed to (eg B1:D1 if your original values are in A1:A3), and enter
=TRANSPOSE($A$1:$A$3)
Then press SHIFT+CTRL+ENTER to put this in as an array function (it develops curly brackets. Et voila.

for instance i have 1256 rows in a column,how am i supposed to select in a row for the transpose?is there a more practical way?

fatih
excel only allows 256 columns so you wouldn't be able to transpose any number of rows greater than that. that limitation aside, another option for transposing is to use paste special>transpose on the edit menu
