Hi All,

I spend my all time supporting IBM AIX system and today our windows admin guy is on a sick-leave and one of the windows production system crashed!

any hint on how to restore it? I know that i have to boot using a windows 2003 CD and then what? I have a tape on the latest backup of this system which had a disk crash last night!

Thanks.

Regards,
Khalid

I got this from our Windows Admin guy and thought of sharing:

Code:
Put new Hard disks

Create RAID 5

Boot from Windows 2000 & continue installing

Create C partition (C:\	12288)

Then when it boots up rename the CD drive to E and create a new parition called D with the rest of the space

Install the tape drive software and try to read from the tape

Restore (with Overwrite) from the 2 full system backup tapes

Reboot and connect the network.

Stop IIS & oracle services

Restore (with Overwrite) from the latest tape backup

Reboot

So thank you very much guys.

Regards,
Khalid
