Hi, I have the following:
* Router NETGEAR wireless home network
* 2 VISTA home edition computers
I am trying to remote desktop from one to other, it gives an error: This computer cant connect to the remote computer.

I have the remote access enabled.
I tried both the remote computer's name (as it appears in the router's system) and the local ip address..

I really would appreciate some help.
Thanks

Steps to Add Remote Desktop to Vista Home Premium:

1. Download termsrv.zip here
2. Extract Termsrv.zip to a temp directory
3. Start “Command Prompt” in Administrator mode (Run As Administrator)
4. Run the corresponding batch file for your Vista edition
5. Allow TCP Port 3389 on Windows Firewall or any other firewall product.
6. Done

Or use RealVNC instead.

Vista machines do not have that feature like XP so another option to look at is logmein.com it is free and has a lot of options.
