Vertitas Backup Exec 9.1 Remote Agent install problem

Hello,

My company has a domain called "corp.com".

Here is my info:

Server: Stallion - Tape Device - Autoloader Attached

Successfully install Backup Exec 9.1 for Windows Servers

Server: Tooltime

This server is the file server where I want to install the remote agent for Windows on to, but am having issues.

Question, how do I change the instal path of the remote installation? it defaults to the C: on the remote computer and I cant change it.

I replied to this a couple of days ago, but my posting seems to have disappeared. Unfortunately, I've lost the link to the relevant web page at Veritas.

I had a similar problem myself when I wanted to install to a d: drive on a particular server a couple of years ago. As far as I recall the solution is based on the fact that the install does not actually default to c:, but to the sharename c$, which as you know would usually be c:. To solve your problem you need to create a new temporary share of c$ that points to the drive of your choice on the remote server. You should then be able to install the remote agent okay. I believe that the Veritas solution recommended rebooting the remote server after installation to recreate the default c$ share.
