hi, i have a spreadsheet that has about 30 rows of data. is there any way by merging cells etc. to make a verticle title for the sheet on the left most column going down, so that the text in the title is EVENLY SPACED FROM ROW 1-30, even if it is short like just the word "2000 Money"?
if anyone could answer this i would really be happy:) , thanx in advance Peter
You're about to be happy if you run Excel 97 or Excel 2000.

Select cells 1 through 30 in Column A. Hit Format-Cells and on the Alignment tab, take the alignment "line" that runs from the center to the right and drag the right end of the "line" upwards to the top of the clock-looking thing so that it runs from the center to the top (sort of like turning the clock hand back 15 minutes).

Set vertical alignment and horizontal alignment both to centered. Select Merge Cells, then OK.

Set your font point size to be 36 points bold (I used Arial). Then, when you type it, put a space between each letter and three spaces between the two words.

Happy camper?

dreamboat@nni.com
<a href=
