Hey pros! Got a Geforce2 MX TwinView and I am wondering what Vertical Sync means. I have looked all over but I just want to understand it in plain english.
Probably can't turn it off. May be able to vary it depending on monitor type. Probably won't do anything for running programs. Will probably mess up the image size.
There are monitors out there that have multiple scan rates, and I suspect that this is the selection mechanism for changing them. The manual should explain it. Ed Fair

Actually, it said that on Halflife (CounterStrike), it said to turn off vertical sync to improve performance. So I went it and there was an option to turn it off, so I did. Before I was getting 60 fps on an online game because I can't handle more than that. But now I'm getting 100 fps at a res of 1024 X 768! Everything looks the same. So I have no idea what it did.
