Hello,
I am new to the forum so patience please.
I have two sbx systems networked together
Static IPs from comcast for each system
calls connect fine but after the call is completed They will not connect for exactly 2 minutes.
Vertical says it is comcast
comcast says no they see packets and responses but they just end quickly
anyone have a similar issue?
Any resolution?
Vertical wants me to capture packets
Since the system is hooked up to the modem directly I would have to install two switches with promiscuous port mode
or two hubs (as vertical recommeneded- like i know where to get a hub anymore)
I can not afford to throw money for switches at this I already have hours of time tied up

Any advise?

can you clarify a couple of things.

When you say they will not connect again for 2 mins, is this inbound (from Comcast), outbound (to Comcast) or both?
Or is it they are active for 2 minutes then the call drops?

If the last one, sounds bang on for a Firewall issue (port closure)

Thanks for your reply
It is connection between systems.
say a station to station call or call transfer from one system to the other over the voib card station (1100 to station 2100 for example)
after the call completes another call between buildings will not connect for exactly 2 minutes
outside calls over comcast phone lines inbound and outbound work fine

for two minutes the calling station hears nothing until the line releases
the called station at the second site hears one ring sees the id of the calling station but cannot pick up the call

One more item
each system has a static ip assigned to the voib card directly
there is no firewall or router in front of either system
directly into Comcast modem/ router (they claim is set up as modem passing all static ip ports through to the static ip)

Do you have the External IP set in the VOIB? (not just where the actual card IP is defined)

Yes the external ip's are in the voib gateway settings.
I can access the http interface remotely at the public static ips

unless you mean somewhere else?

Is there some way to set the ip in the card Im not aware of?
Tech support at vertical made no mention of it?
