Is it possible to open a new window with only the vertical scrollbars and no horizontal ones? If so, how would it be done? Thanks.

I think you can only do that by making sure that your content does not exceed the width that triggers a horizontal scrollbar. Kevin

I think that's probably the correct answer, since I don't have a horizontal scrollbar on the window I'm looking at right now, but if I encounter one of those annoying w-i-d-e postings the scrollbar is there. Tracy Dryden

Then you risk cutting off some of your content.

My suggestion is to put all your page content into a TABLE, DIV, or SPAN with a fixed pixel width that is less than the width of the pop-up window. Kevin
