Ok, so i want to change the way i backup. I no longer want to do brick level backup with exchange(takes to long using too much of my CPU)

I want to use exchange 2003 recovery storage group.

But i'm confused. I understand the exchnage bit.

But when i do an exchange restore(in veritas) i don't want to retore my whole Inforamtion store to its orginal location (e.g my working in use IS) i want it to go in the recovery storage group.

How do i do this, i can see redirect to another server but i only have one exchange server.

I'm using backup exec 9.1

When you setup the RSG the database will be dismounted. Veritas will detect you production IS is mounted and look for the RSG and find the database offline/dismounted and restore to it. So as long as you production IS is mounted there wont be any problems

So the restore to into the recovery storage group is automatic? thats why they are no settings in veritas
