versions question

I have solaris 2.6, 2.7 and 2.8 in a testing environment on seperate pizza boxes. And have just learned that ldap comes compiled in the solaris 8 companion cd which I can d/l from solaris' site for free.

Big question I have for you solaris geeks is, can I install that cd on top of 6 and 7? If not, do you know where I can find the companion cd's for 6 and 7. At least from there I can find out if it has LDAP.

My last option being open source but I don't have any compilers installed (yet) I don't feel like going that route.
