Versioning on SCCS

Hi,
Does anyone know what the maximum version number (delta) is for SCCS. I am told that it could be 99. Could this be correct, or is it more like 999?

well it's more than 99 ...

i'm not sure it's limited, is it?

well i killed the process off at 1500 versions ... looks like 999 isn't a maximum either.
