Version X & version XI differences!!?? 1

I've just been working with crystal report XI for the last 2 months. made around 15 .rpt files and now I've ordered Crytal Report X instead. What are the differences? Can I still use insert subreport..? Will my rpt file work on the version X??

I take it by X you mean version 10??

If you do mean 10 then you will be able to use the rpt files you've created. You can open up an XI report in 10, but if you have used some of the new features in XI i.e cascading parameters, these will not work as 10 doesn't have the functionality.

You will still be able to insert a subreport too as this is a standard feature across nearly all the versions.

thanks guys. I don't think I'll have a problem. I don't even know what cascading is!
I just used the sub report in a report function and the formula expression.

it was a mistake. I gave my company the order form for crystal report X instead of XI...*lol*..After having used the XI version and having finished a few reports even. Not that its important, but would I be able to get an update for XI if necessary?

well yes, its the developer edition of X that I posess. would I, or my company, have to pay extra for the update?

Unfortunately Buisiness Objects doesn't upgrade for free (if that is what you meant) - updates (however few of them there are) are free - I think...at least I haven't found any that I needed to pay for.
You can upgrade at BO or through many other retailers who provide BO software. Negotiable for who's the better deal.
