Version of VMware to use for six virtual servers on one box?

We've got six old boxes running SCO Unix, and today successfully virtualized one of them using VMware, subject to some further testing. Our goal is to have all six running virtualized on a single Win2003 physical server. There won't be any need to back up the images themselves (the data gets backed up regularly enough, and the template can be adjusted easily enough to replace any of them) and no particular need for centralized monitoring or management; it will be plenty benefit enough to get them off their Pentium-Pro boxes.

Can anyone recommend to me what version of VMware I should be looking at for this function? I'm familiar enough with Microsoft's Virtual Server product (another physical server running VS2005 has six Win2k Servers running on it) but not at all with the various flavors of VMware and their web page is not very clear about it.

Depends on the size of the OS footprint. If it's a real old version of SCO Unix and don't require backups you can probably get away with using the free VMware server product running under Windows 2003 (as you do right now)

I would use ESXi, very stable, and free.
