Has anyone noticed the updated version being less effective with media capacity? I had version 8.5, then upgraded to 9.0. Before upgrade my largest backup was 138G, using a HP surestore DAT 40x6. Now when BE 9.0 gets to about 122G, it asks for more media to be imported to the robotic library. Nothing has changed other than BE.

I hope I don't have to upgrade my tape device just because I upgraded software.

I am a consultant for a bunch of clients, and I too have seen that happen and there doesn't seem to be an answer or fix. I suspect drivers. Veritas didn't seem to know and they do not have updated drivers. Try uninstalling Veritas drivers and using OEM drivers. Weird huh?

Thanks, I've got a long reply email from their tech support with some things to try. But I'll also try your suggestion. When you say OEM drivers, you're talking about non-Veritas drivers or the HP drivers, right?

How do I change drivers? Do you mean within BackupExec?
