there was nothing in the file name or in the included txt files from the download that indicate this is beta or early introduction.
For them to put it on the FTP server with the final file name make me think they've been done with it but are waiting to officially release it due to other internal reasons, none of which have anything to do with the actual software.
who knows really. it's all speculation.
i wouldn't recommned putting this on a live system by any means but i am definately loading it up on my test gear
Although you can download it it does not mean you get support from Avaya if you are going to use it.
My advise is to wait until the GA announcement is there.
3.2.53 is only out for a few days for field trial, you'll never know what kind of bugs are still in there before it has been properly tested in the field.
But if you have a good relationship with your customer who suffers from the bugs in 3.2.17 then you can give it a try.
In the marketingtools website there is a page called "caveats" were all known issues are logged with the repair date. There you can check if your bug is fixed.
Have you been able to unzip the file yet? they are usualy password protected (& I am not going to break my confidentiality agreement my disclosing the password)
3.2.53 is the current release candidate as far as I know, but then again so was 3.2.52 for a few days befor it got pulled.
V3.1.17 bugs are reasonably harmless, I would stick with that untill the September Maintanence release(what ever version) becomes available, even then there is a posibility of somthing that now works getting broken.
i got it fully unzipped (no password) and installed. I upgraded a test 412 I have with a couple modules and i haven't seen any problems thus far...but of course it isn't a production system with users telling me every time something doesn't work just right.
Current 3.2 phone manager doesn't work well with analogue phones. Sometimes it takes the phone off-hook, and sometimes it doesn't. It's repeatable too, so I'm certain it's a bug, but Avaya won't talk to me
Phone manager says "forwarding to external numbers is dis-allowed", but it isn't.
When using PM to transfer a call, the list only includes internal names/numbers (directory is ticked). Another bug, as outgoing transfer is allowed.
This product would be good if it actualy worked. But it's so full of bugs, we'll never sell it to anyone. The support overhead would kill any profit.
I'm hearing ya IThack! It's just amazing in this day and age that a company can release something, untested it seems, with as many bugs as they do and still survive. It's like Microsoft in a way, they're both so big that people will buy it anyway. At least Windows is only brought down by people who try to, the IPO brings itself down!
