I need to back up one 220r, and two Ultra 5's.

I plan on using a DLT7000 drive with a PCI UltraSCSI SE Card, but I am not sure what backup software to use(UFSDUMP, or something like Veritas NetBakup.

This is for a development environment, and I would like to keep costs down at this point.

Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

pes,

ufsdump, tar or cpio would probably all do the job equally well, provided the filesystems are quiescent at the time of the backup.

Annihilannic.

You also need to consider will the file(s) be in use at backup time and are any on raw devices. Legato and Veritas are good solutions but are pricey!
