Veritas Netback terminates silently

Hi all

Have a problem with Veritas Netbackup of SunSevers. After backing up some servers Netbackup quits silently. Not sure where to look for errors. This is a recent development, all servers were backing up previously. Veritas knowledge base not very helpful.

Try changing the level of logging, then have a look at your logs. Compare these results with some older runs and see if anything pops off.

Have you restored anything off these backups? If there is a problem, you could be looking at a hardware issue. Provide me with a little more info and I might be able to help you out. For instance, when you mean netbackup quits, are you talking about the scheduler, media servers, or what?

Good luck, I always hate dealing with Veritas and too many times their consulting is not good.

Have incremental backup running Monday thru Friday and Full backups start Friday night and ends Monday morning. Incrementals are fine and backups forty odd severs. Last Friday the Fulls started at 6PM and quit at about 2AM Saturday backing up 28 Servers. THe back up schedules have not been changed and Fulls were going good earlier though there has been hiccups once in a way in terms of bad media. The Full backup window is from Friday 6PM to Monday 8 AM. Restores have been successful.There are no errors reported in the activity monitor. Logging is set at level 8. Not sure which of the log files to look at.
