veritas error messages

I am using Veritas Backup exec version 8. I have an alert message to remove media. There is no media to remove. Every time i click through the message; the alert reappears a few minutes later. I have tried new tapes, old tapes, but no change. Anyone have an idea??

First, try inserting a piece of media and see if it will "re-eject" the tape and get rid of the message.

If that doesn't work, try recycling the BE services and re-launch the GUI.
