My backup failed(Veritas) over the weekend. Error reads:

Storage device "Seagate 1" reported an error on a requet to read data from media.

Error reported:
Data error (cyclic redundancy check).

I am fairly new to Veritas and don't know if I should just ignore this error.

Please help!

Thanks,
Lynda

Typically a CRC error is a drive fault. Look first at getting the driver replaced. (Its usually the drive head that is faulty especially if's a DLT drive).

Cheers
