Ever since I upgraded from 8.5 to 8.6 my scheduled backup jobs start as Queued. The only way I can get a backup job to run is to run Catalog on the Media slot. The media slot will then show the correct tape number. I used to be able to do this with Inventory, but that has not worked since the upgrade either. I need to get back to having scheduled backups actually run when they are scheduled.
