Veritas Backup List Problem causing failed backup jobs

How do I modify a backup list? I can't remove a folder to exclude it from the list. I already tried the uncheck command and I also tried adding the folder to the excluded list. However, the backup jobs fail because the program still tries to access the said folder. The folder still has a check mark beside it.

Any ideas why?
