Veritas Backup Failure:
Receiving failed message on all backups for the last 6 days. The major reason for the failures appears to be that the backup server does not have the correct permissions to access some of the servers. Also, one of the error messages encountered is that veritas failed to connect. Could this be a problem with the share (mapped drive) or what connection is veritas referring to? Currently we back up 6 servers. Last night we encounter problems accessing the Exchange server. The password was denied by the exchange server but the password worked with all other servers. This account "ebackups" is part of the active directory and the exchange server is part of the same Forest and Domain. "ebackup" is part of the backup group, and should have the correct permissions to access any server listed on the veritas job. What permissions should veritas have in the Active Directory to access each server? Also, are there any tips I should know when backing up .pst files and the message store for Exchange 2000? I need help ASAP. Cannot have another failure? Thanks all
