dear veritas lovers i've got question i can just not solve!

we have a win2k server with backup exec 8.1. for some strange reason our backups do not run automatically through but always need a 'reply' the alert box pops up and says 'okay to overwrite medial labelled 235434xxx?". once i have replied "yes" the backup starts running.
question: how can i have an automatic overwrite without these messages? can you give me a step by step solution?

thanks a lot

You need to stop the pop-up messages. I have version 8.6 so I don't know if this will be the same:

Go to the menu bar select Tools>Options, go to the Media Overwrite tab. There are options for Media Overwrite Protection Level. Two of the options have check boxes for getting alerts before overwriting. Uncheck those boxes.

If your version doesn't have the above, check your documentation for where you need to make the changes.
