Yes, look in the Job History and you will probably see that there was one or more open files that were SKIPPED. That is why the job was marked FAILED even though it completed.
Specifically, go to the Activity Monitor tab
double-click on the job that failed
select the Job Log tab in the pop-up window
either view the job results in the window
or for better viewing click on the button marked
'View/Edit Job Log'
Skipped files will not cause your backup to fail. There are a number of words which you can find in your log file that can cause the backup to fail. Go to this Veritas web site for a list of those words "
