I have Lotus Notes/Domino 4.5. I am required to upgrade to satsify a client need. We use the e-mail part a little bit, but mostly we replicate databases with our client that we use on a daily basis. That is all our Lotus system is used for.

I wanted to verify that I upgrade to the r5 Application server as opposed to the Enterprise server. Does that sound correct?

Actually, no, since you say you are using both e-mail and application replication.
There is no "little bit" - either you are using e-mail, or you are not. Volume is not part of the equation.

If you install the Application server, you won't be using e-mail any more - not unless you manually reconfigure the connection documents and restart the Router service.

I would suggest installing the full Enterprise server. What you don't use will not hurt you there. Besides, if you do decide to not use e-mail anymore, you can always stop the Router task and leave the rest (the purists will have a fit over that one).

Pascal.

My use of "little bit" probably wasn't the correct term to use. My apologies. We currently use the e-mail, but it is used infrequently.

I thank you for your suggestion and help.

John

No apologies needed. I may have been a bit sharp in the tone, though, sorry about that.

Pascal.
