Hello,

I wanted to make sure that the virtual directory properties on IIS 6 for the "Exchange" folder are correct.

I have attached a file with all the default permissions. It seems like there are too many for the exchange folder (under "default website" in IIS 6).

Can someone confirm or tell me if i can lock this down a bit more?

Thanks!

Ah - finally a FAQ on that. I don't know how many times I've posted a link to that older thread. Thanks, Mark!

Guys, thank you for your replies although i don't think that quite answered what i was asking. I am specifically asking about the "Virtual Directory" tab on the exchange folder in IIS6 (Like in my attachment). The FAQ and forum post you provided do not cover whether "Script source access, Read, Write, Directory browsing, Log Visits, or Index this resource" should be checked. As a matter of fact I cant find this information anywhere on the web. It seems like too many permissions to have enabled on this folder that is why I am inquiring. For example, why would "Directory browsing" need to be enabled? Seems like a security risk.

Just compared your screen shot to a default system. You have the default settings.

I hope you find this post helpful.
