Verify Client is installed and working

I recently installed NAV 8.1 for small business and I have no experience with their products. I seemed to get the server portion istalled fine and got the registration/license things handled for Def updates. I also went to each PC and ran the INSTALL CLIENT option to install the end user portion and it seems to have worked just fine in most cases but I see no indication that the PC's have any realtime virus protection when its finished. Can anyone help?

If you mean there is no shield icon showing up in sys-tray then goto SSCC and right click the parent server > all tasks > symantec antivirus > client administrator only optipns > select show symantec antivirus icon on desktop.

Another way is to check Rtvscan.exe is running in task manager.

 
Another way to see if realtime is running, is to go to the client system go to start> programs > symantec client security > then select view > File system realtime scan statistics.

An easy way to insure the AV is running on the clients is to use the SSC select Tools > Find > Audit Network > put in the subnet > check the options and set the port that SAVCE 8.1 runs on (2967). This audit will tell you if it is running what group it is in, the parent server, and version.
