We are planning to dump the transactionlog on our sybase server every 2hours to be able to restore up to point of failure.
We are dumping the databases to disk and then dumping it to tape.
question 1:
Could the DBVALID command be used to verify both files on the disk and the one on the tape?

Any suggestions on how to verify that the disk dump is correct before dumping it to tape?

question 2:
how could the issue with dumping log to disk every 2hour and
verify these dumps before sending them to tape be solved?
any suggestions?
