I dont know if this can be done but here's the scenerio.
- I have 4 linked password protectected odbc tables in my access database. I use these tables to pull in outside company info that is custom to my db for my small group.

-When the select query runs the linked tables are password protected. So it prompts u for your user name and password.

-So what i want to do is instead of having to log into the linked tables and my database. I would like to have the user log into the linked tables upon opening my db then upon verification of the linked tables enter my db switchboard form.

-I would also like to be able to sting the username to a log.

Is this possible!!!!!!
Or am i dreaming...

Any help would be greatly appreciated

If my scenerio is not clear let me know--

I think your stuck if you want to keep the usernames and passwords secret.

You could change the connect property of each table after the user supplies the username and password in a form.

I use DAO... Specifically you would change the connect property of a tabledef object and use the refresh method of the tabledef object to change the connect property. Hopefully I'm not speaking out of turn using my old school Access 97 knowledge.
