Ver. 8.6 Missed Jobs 1

OK, let's see how good your memory is (anybody). I've experienced several instances of BackUp Exec 8.6 performing a backup when the server was shut down. It will never run another backup, all jobs are missed afterward. The only resolution has been to reinstall the software and warn everyone not to mess with the server without shutting down the backup.

Anyone got an idea about how to resolve this without reinstallation?

Yes - the server is paused - this happens when the services are stopped or the server is rebooted in the middle of the job.

Go to the media tab - right click the servername and uncheck paused.

Thanks a lot, that did the trick. Now I'm embarrassed! Working with Veritas for four years, I've never run across that before!
