I have several installers to manage and was looking for some of the latest trends or tips to help me manage them. Thanks.

I've found a large stick works...kinda well :)

This is always fun, I went from doing the field work for 15 years to doing design and estimating and supervision and very little field work. It's a change, it sure does require some adaptation.

Maybe someone has some good advice if you throw out some specific issues.

It is only my opinion, based on my experience and education...I am always willing to learn, educate me!

Pull, don't push.
Picture your team as a hunk of chain laying on a table.
You want to get the chain from one side of the table to other. Grab an end and pull it across works great. If you try to push the chain, it gets piled up.
Treat your people the same way. Take the lead and pull them with you. Don't ask them to do something that you wouldn't do first. Lead by example. You are in a position to be a perfect manager since you have "Been There, Done That" for 15 years.

Works for me.
