Why?

This is the error:

I'm pretty sure this is BDE related, open your BDE and verify that you have an entry.

If thats OK, is it happening on all PCs or just one. If only one, check with your LAN guy to make sure you have proper network rights. Verify that you can ping the server that SQL resides on.

Getting a message w/SPFILES is pretty generic. I think it is the first SQL table Goldmine tries to connect to. Your problem is most likely a connection issue.

Thanks for the assistance! We actually were able to resolve the issues by installing the SQl Server drivers. We should have payed closer attention to the "FILENAME: NTWDBLIB.DLL" message at the bottom. Thanks again.
