Anyone out there had a chance to use Vegas Pro 4.0 yet ?
This is an incredible product:
- no rendering required to preview transitions
- feature rich (not a beginner product in my opinion)
- doesn't crash all the time (in fact I have never crashed it)
- Builtin Video Waveform, Vectorscope
- has great video plugin support (e.g. title roll)
- fast response to every point and click (and do I mean fast)
- Vegas, and Sound Forge, are now owned by Sony (they bought Sonic Foundry) - For more features
Downside:
- I cannot get it to use my Matrox RT2000 card yet
- I cannot get the vidcap to work with my DVCam yet
- I never seem to have enough time to fully explore all the cool capabilities (yet)
I tried out Premier Pro and I was not that impressed. Still slow, buggy, and not as rich with features as Vegas Pro.
Let me know if there is interest in starting a Vegas Pro forum.
