I am using Win2K and VC++, I have installed the directx SDK and informed VC++ of the new lib and include directories. The DirectX example programs run fine. However, If try to run a program compiled (I get no errors) from an example source (acquired from prima tech's 'Zen of Direct3D') I get an app that either immediately closes or just displays a blank screen. I have had no problems with the example source files that do not involve D3D so I am assuming that the source files are fine. PLZ let me know what else could be wrong. I do not even know what else it could be.

nevermind, I got it now. I was calling for a mode my graphics card didn't support.
