Hi,

If I wrote a script to upload files to a server in VBS.

Do standard versions of windows XP & Vista have WSHost on by default and enable me to supply scripts as a download and have clients run it without problems?

Thanks,

On standard versions, XP has WSH 5.6 and Vista has 5.7.

Hope This Helps, PH.

There are many security suites that may interfere with a user's ability to run a WSH script, and a few that may even block HTAs. Blocking script contained within HTML email is also popular.

For example see: How to disable or remove the Windows Scripting Host

I think this is short sighted and overly aggressive, but some shops do this sort of thing. Probably as a result of users who they just can't trust to avoid malware vectors.

I've scrapped this idea, as I've finally found a web based version which works with some tweaking and sever configuration.
