vbscript files and pictures

i downloaded something and it wasnt what i thought it was when i opened it. anyway, whatever it was, it turned all my jpg pictures to vbscript files and i cant open them. is there any way to change them back to jpg's?

Congratulations, you've got yourself a virus. I'd recommend you install some anti-virus software.

is there any way to fix it, like get back all of my pictures? or a least stop them from changing into vbscript files when i save them as jpgs?

You're first priority needs to be removal of the virus.

AFA salvaging your jpegs - it depends on the virus. Some actually modify file content, thereby corrupting your jpeg to an image viewer. You could try googling the web for a utility that's capable of reverting the jpegs, but it's a long shot.

Other's simply change the file extension(s), in which case you could simply change them back. Jon Hawkins
