VBE 7.3 on NT Server Occasionally runs all night without starting

I support a company that has VBE 7.3 with a Seagate tape drive. They have relitevely new tapes. Every week or so, they get in in the morning, and the tape backup is still running. They have to abort it to work. When I look at the logs, it says that it ran the pre-backup Job Command, and ran the post-backup Job Command, but there is nothing in between.

Once, I noteced there was nothing in the Device field of the Job Definition, but that isn't the case usually.

I'm at a loss, here.
