Hi, ok i am pretty confident in VBA with excel, however when it comes to word, its another story.

I have been asked to design a standard template which has standard paragraphs on it, could be about 100 paragraphs, now these paragraphs are to be the basis of paragraphs in formal letters. So the idea is to click the paragraph in the template and it will atuomatically create the paragraph in new word document, and then they can click on more paragraphs which would then run on from the previous paragraph sent to the new word document.

Is this at all possible?

Thanks

possible, but if im understanding correctly, this would not be the best approach.

How about storing the paragraphs in some sort of database(could even be an xml file) or in a seperate template file

then using a form to load up in word, which lists the paragraphs and hten the user can select which ones they need that way ?

It depends on the size of the paragraphs, and would it be possible to make a short identifier for them.

If I understand correctly, you are thinking of a template WITH the paragraphs there, and the user clicks somewhere in a paragraph. That paragraph is then created in another document. The user clicks, somewhere, in another paragraph, and THAT paragraph is created (duplicated) in the same document as the previous one.

Possible, but I would agree with Chance. It is perhaps not the best way.

Personally, I would have them as AutoText entries in a template. A userform would list them. You either select them one at a time, or multiples. Press OK, and the new document would insert the AutoText.
