i am trying to decifer some code in and excel module and have run into something i think i know, but want to make sure... here is an example of the line of code

CMSCALLbeginx = ActiveSheet.Cells(6, 3).Value

(CMSCALLbeginx is dimmed as an integer)

this is looking at column 6, row 3 and taking the value in that cell..

right?

No. The Cells property is in the format:

Cells(RowIndex, ColumnIndex)

In this case, it is assumed that there is an integer in cell C6. If there is anything besides an integer, this will error.
