VBA Cant close report

VBA opens a report in design view,makes the needed changes then closes and saves.Well, it used to do that. Now I get an error message saying it cant close the report. After stopping the application, I saw that the report was indeed open. When I tried to close it nothing happens. It won't close. This has been working for at least a year. Can anyone help me? My users are waiting for the reports.

Are you allowed save any reports? Can you close the report without saving? Have you looked at corruption:

I couldn't close it without saving it either.
I tried compact and repair and the application quit Access completely. I took a backup copy of the database and started fresh and it seems to run ok. Still, if anyone knows what’s going on I'd love to hear

It looks like your database had become corrupted.
