If I have the following-
machine A with NT4 + SP5 running VB6 for NT
machine B with Win95OSR2 running VB6 for Win95
my query is-
would VBP developed in machine A be usable by machine B, and vice versa

Would the final product (*.exe,*.dll) be distributable and runnable in machines running either WinNT4 or Win95?

Many Thanks [sig][/sig]

one thing to keep in mind, yes VB6 is 32bit, so it'll run on both, BUT if you use any 16Bit API, or 16bit dll, it'll only run on 95, and not NT, but using what Vb6 already has, it will run on both. We always release binaries that have been compiled on the O/S they will run on.... I was getting some silly errors (common dialogue stuff not working and so on) that went away when I built a different binary for each target platform. which reminds me, typically an API may work in NT but not 95 and vice versa, and I agree with Mike, that a different compile for each platform should be done, just to make sure. Stupid thing is that stuff *can* work without problems.... but you can never be sure.... [sig]
Mike
michael.j.lacey@ntlworld.com
<a href= Cargill's Corporate Web Site
Making mistakes, so you don't have to. <grin>[/sig]
