VB6 PDW stops during install...

(on w98 with netware)

the initial 'processing files' gray window starts, and then displays the 'some files need to be updated, want to reboot?' message.

however, clicking OK will not restart the system (clicking cancel is useless of course), and it is impossible to get passed that point (ie. to the second stage of installation, with the default blue background).

this results in an "outdated .ocx/dll file" error (#372) message, because the second stage install did not get to run resulting in the support files not getting installed...

any clues on how to solve this?

thanks _a lot_, really.

When I first started programming I had this same problem. The PDW in vb cant replace the files when they are in use. The only way to solve this is to use another installer. I use installshield and I never have this problem. It automatically knows what to do in this situation. It has a wizzard that recompiles your VB project and creates a set up for it. Its really cool.

Hope this helps !
