Hi,

I'm a Visual Basic programmer (V6) and I know how to connect to an Oracle DB in a lan environment. AI'm always using the odbc-connection and a vb excutable. I don't know how to start with this project.

I want to enter an user id and password and when the end user clicks on the submit button, the page connect to a certain (remote) oracle db , validates user and password and returns one value of a table.

Could someone advice here? [sig][/sig]

are you running IIS on your server? If so, you can use an ASP page written in VBSCRIPT. IF not, you'll need to write a CGI app in VB. If you're already a VB programmer, either of these should be pretty easy.

For beginning ASP, try or or You'll find a bunch of database samples.

If you need to use CGI from VB, search the web for CGI4VB
