I just bought VB6 professional ed., since I do not know object oriented languages and didn't want a long learning curve to become productive in VBnet. I also wanted the native language compiler in VB6 pro which the learning ed. did not offer.

Unfortunately, I am totally confused by the installation instructions of VB6 pro. I do not wish to develop VB6 web applications. Is there some way I can just install VB6 pro. edition on my PC w/o turning my PC into a server (like the VB learning edition enabled one to do)?

Thank you.

I don't think it is a problem. You have the option to install some server side components, like frontpage extensions, but I don't think your machine will turn into a server without a lot more help from Bill Gates.
I have been using VB6 pro regularly since it came out and I have avoided its web development tools entirely.
If you perform the default installations and start with the standard form based .exe application the web based components will not be enabled. You have to manually enable them and any other non-standard functionality.
Have fun . . .
